Guide
How much does UGC cost?
UGC is usually priced per asset or per bundle — a single photo set, a batch of short-form videos, or a mixed package of both. Rates depend on the creator's experience, the complexity of the shoot, and how the brand plans to use the content.
Photo sets
Photo sets are the most accessible entry point for local brands. A typical set includes several high-resolution images showing the product in use, styled flat lays, and lifestyle shots. Brands often use these across organic social, websites, and email campaigns.
Pricing is usually based on the number of final photos and the styling required. A small set for organic social costs less than a full shoot with props, models, and multiple locations.
Short-form video
Short-form video — think TikTok, Reels, and Shorts — takes more time per asset than photos. A creator has to plan the hook, film multiple clips, edit the footage, add captions, and sometimes include music or voiceover.
Because of the extra production work, video rates are higher than photo rates. Rates also rise if the brand wants raw footage, multiple hooks, or variations for ad testing.
Mixed bundles
Mixed bundles give brands the best of both worlds: a set of photos plus one or more videos from the same creator. This keeps the look and feel consistent across every channel, and it is often more cost-effective than ordering photos and videos separately.
Bundles are popular with brands that want a full month's worth of content in one shoot — organic posts, ads, website imagery, and email assets all from a single project.
What affects the price?
- Creator experience: vetted creators with a strong portfolio typically charge more than newcomers.
- Usage rights: organic-only usage costs less than a paid-ad license or extended commercial rights.
- Production complexity: location shoots, talent, props, and voiceover all add time and cost.
- Turnaround time: rushed delivery may carry a higher rate than standard timelines.
- Volume: larger bundles usually reduce the per-asset price.
Usage rights and licensing
The price isn't just for the time it takes to create the asset — it also covers where and for how long the brand can use it. A creator might charge one rate for organic social use, and a higher rate if the brand wants to run the content as a paid ad for 12 months.
On Local Lens Content, usage rights are agreed before any work starts, so both sides know exactly what is included and what would need an additional license.
